The follow is a listing of ongoing classes offered by the City of Morro Bay Recreation Services in coordination from Morro Bay Senior Citizens, Inc.

Tunes at Tidelands (2)

“Tunes at Tidelands” is a free concert series hosted by Morro Bay’s Active Adults 55+. Bands will take the stage at 5 p.m. each Thursday of September rocking until 7 p.m. Featured bands are Back Pages Band, Garden Party, Riff Tide and Unfinished Business. Bring a folding chair or a blanket, watch the sun set and let the music take you back. Beer, Wine and soft drinks will be available for sale proceeds supporting the event and an exciting new food truck will be available each week.

Aces

Barbara Hart leads this program that is geared for seniors with an emphasis on stretching and range of motion exercises. This class is open to all ages and abilities and is free! This is made possible through the partnership between the Morro Bay Recreation Services and the Morro Bay Senior Citizens, Inc.

P.A.C.E.

People with Arthritis Can Exercise. Join this gentle exercise and movement program. This class is open to all ages and abilities and is free! This is made possible through the partnership between the Morro Bay Recreation Services and the Morro Bay Senior Citizens, Inc.

RAMs Morro Bay Retired Active Men

The RAMs purpose is to promote the happiness of retired men by assisting them in renewing former friendships and associations.  Providing the opportunity for the formation of new friendships through association with other retired men.  There are no dues or association fees.  Reserve no later than the Friday prior to the meeting, Adrian Hurtado 805-441-3105.

  • Admission: First Meeting Free; $15 per meeting for breakfast and club expenses.


Tai Chi

Join instructor Anne-Marie Schnetzler in this free casual Yang Form Tai Chi class that is gentle, relaxing, and helps improve balance.

Balance Class

This class is designed for those who want to work on acquiring better balance.  Working a variety of core exercises they will help strengthen these key areas of the body.

39+ Dance

Join our dance Family.  We waltz, foxtrot, cha-cha, rhumba, tango swing and more the music of The Swinging Bridge Band.

  • 2nd Friday of the month: 6pm - 9pm 
  • 4th Wednesday of the month: 11am - 2pm
  • Location:  Morro Bay Community Center.
  • Admission:  $10 Includes coffee, tea, and snacks.
