Maintaining Your Public Safety and Quality of Life Services
During these unprecedented times, the health and well-being of our residents is our top priority. Rest assured, the City is taking all necessary action to maintain providing essential services to our residents and provide resources to the most vulnerable in our community.
The City of Morro Bay has launched Morro Bay Cares to provide residents with the most up to date information as well provide informational resources. We have also launched, the RUOK (Are You OK?) program offering voluntary RUOK wellness calls to our vulnerable high-risk population that has been asked to shelter in their homes. You can find these resources and more information on the City’s COVID-19 webpage at: https://www.morrobayca.gov/covid19
The City must be proactive in ensuring that we are prepared for any medical or catastrophic emergency including preparing our local Police and Fire Departments including preventing service reductions, updating emergency communication systems and maintaining rapid 911 emergency response times.
As nearly 70% of calls to the Morro Bay Fire Department are related to emergency rescue and medical emergencies? We are actively seeking to prevent the reduction of service by our local Morro Bay Fire Department, so our skilled, local firefighter-paramedics continue to respond to our local life-threatening emergencies.
