City Attorney

Overview & Responsibilities
The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council. His duties and responsibilities include:
  • Providing legal advice and services to the City Council, the city’s officials, departments, employees, boards, and commissions
  • Rendering legal advice and opinions; drafts and reviews contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other documents as needed
  • Representing the city’s legal interests before judicial and administrative agencies and prosecutes violations of the Municipal Code
  • Managing the work of other outside special counsel
