CivicSpark Program
The County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) hosts an AmeriCorps team employed to help implement local Climate Action Plans (CAPs) in a new statewide program called CivicSpark. The program was created out of a partnership between the Local Government Commission and the Governor's Office of Planning and Research to provide local project work and identify supporting resources to meet localized climate protection goals. The APCD was selected as one of nine Regional Partners throughout California for assisting the Central Coast with CAP implementation. The local CivicSpark team is providing assistance to the seven incorporated cities and SLO County in the implementation of their approved Climate Action Plans.
