Flags on City public buildings are being placed at half-staff to honor the life of a former Morro Bay Mayor, Dale Reddell.  Mayor Dale Reddell passed away on February 2, 2021, at home after battling cancer.

Dale served as Mayor from 1986 to 1988 and was committed to community service and involvement throughout his life.  Dale was a prominent Morro Bay contractor and realtor, partnering with his brother Dan at Bayshore Realty.

Dale was a longtime Morro Bay Police Department Community Volunteer serving from the first Volunteer Academy in 1996 until he retired from his volunteer work in 2017.  During his tenure he was instrumental in fundraising for the Police Department’s K-9 purchase and served as the treasurer for the MBPV organization. Dale was also a generous member of the Rotary Club of Morro Bay contributing his time and giving to many causes that affected many in Morro Bay.

“The City of Morro Bay is keeping Dale, his wife Billie, sons Randy and Rusty, his two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren in our thoughts and prayers,” said Morro Bay Mayor, John Headding.
