Residents Impacted by the Storm
San Luis Obispo County was added to the FEMA major disaster declaration (FEMA-4683-DR) and individuals are now eligible to apply directly to FEMA for assistance.

Residents who incurred financial losses due to storm damage are encouraged to apply for assistance as soon as possible online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362.

You can also apply for assistance by downloading the FEMA app in the Apple and Google store. This allows you to upload documents to FEMA directly and track the status of your application.

More ways to apply are coming soon, including in person assistance from FEMA representatives.

HOW TO APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE (English and Spanish) 

Temporary Shelter for Displaced Residents 
On Friday, January 20, the American Red cross in cooperation with the City of Morro Bay and the County of San Luis Obispo will be opening a shelter for residents who have been displaced due to the storms countywide, this includes residents of SLO City who have been displaced. The shelter will be located at the Morro Bay Community Center, 1001 Kennedy Way, Morro Bay.  It will open at 2:00 pm on January 20 and will close the morning of Tuesday, January 24. The shelter will accept pets. Anyone who has been displaced from their residence due to the storms is welcome. The shelter will accept pets. The County of San Luis Obispo Office of Emergency Services has posted recovery information for the public on their RecoverSLO.org website for those in need of assistance following the recent storm. This includes how to re-enter your home if you experienced damage, cleanup and recovery resources, and information regarding financial assistance.

Los Osos Cares Resource Center and Womenade Estero Bay are here to help those in need who have suffered loss due to flooding of homes or businesses (including funding immediate needs, utilities, food, clothing, gas vouchers, laundry needs, community dinners, etc.).

Business owners who incurred financial losses due to storm damage can apply for assistance through the Small Business Administration online at www.disasterloanassistance.sba.gov or by calling 1-800-659-2955 or (TTY) 7-1-1 to request an application.
