We will be closed Wednesday March 11th for a High School special event.
We are headed into Swim & Dive Team season for high school athletics, which will mean early closures for home meets. We will post the schedule as soon as it is finalized.

Water temperature is kept between 78-82 degrees.
The pool is 25-yards by 35-meters. We are a circle swimming facility.
Lockerrooms with one indoor shower are available for use,and 5 outdoor showers. Indoor and outdoor showers are hot.
Kickboards, pull bouys and Aqua Aerobics belts and bouys are available for use.
Lockerrooms close 15 minutes after the pool closes.

Year around lessons
Private Lessons will be 30 minutes in length. Private lessons will be 1 instructor to 1 participant. Price dependent on session length.
Availability is based on staffing. Participants during the athletic season must be 3 years old or older.
Recreation Services has a no refund policy.
Semiprivate lessons will be 1 instructor to 2 participants. Participants must be close to the same age and ability level. If adding a semiprivate participant please check the box and leave their name and age into the notes section. For larger groups please contact the Aquatics coordinator. Missed lessons can not be made up. You may make instructor requests in the note section of registration.

The Community Foundation of Estero Bay, Inc. (CFEB) provides recreational scholarships to youth living in the Estero Bay Community (Cayucos, Los Osos, Morro Bay) that wish to participate in activities provided by the Morro Bay Recreation Services. Scholarship are limited and are on a first come first serve basis. Scholarship are based on yearly qualifications and run August through August of each year.
Currently CFEB covers 100% cost of pool programming for qualifying youth. This will be re-evaluated yearly based on funding.
2026 Junior Guard Bootcamp

This program is recommended for all the Little Rippers who have taken a few swim lessons and are ready to learn water safety, build new swim skills and endurance before hitting the beach. This is an introductory program that will help build aquatics skills, confidence and endurance needed for the Beach Programs. This program is tailored for the littles that have had some swim lessons and want to develop more advanced swimming skills and preparatory ocean skills.
This program will take place Sundays from 1:30pm - 2:30pm at the MBHS Aquatic Center.
Session 1 - March 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd - $100
Session 2 - March 29th, April 12th,19th & 26th - $100
Session 3 - May 3rd, 17th, June 7th & 14th -$100
This program is recommended for all first time Junior Lifeguards and the seasoned JG who want to strengthen their swimming skills and endurance before hitting the beach. This is an introductory program that will help build aquatics skills, confidence and endurance needed for the Beach Program. The Pool Program is tailored for the youth that have completed swim lessons and want to develop more advanced swimming skills and preparatory ocean skills. We strongly recommend participating in the Pool Program prior to participating in the Beach Program for the first time.
This program will take place Sundays from 1:30pm - 2:30pm at the MBHS Aquatic Center.

Level 1 - Swimmer's are introduced to the water, without parents or guardians. Participants will learn how to enter & exit the water safely. They will learn how to blow bubbles, front float supported, back float supported, kick their feet, and big arms.
Level 2 Beginner (Freestyle) - Swimmer's will learn how to enter & exit the water safely. They will learn how to bob (rhythmic breathing skills), front float supported and progress to unsupported, back float supported and progress to unsupported, kick in progression (on wall, on kick board, in prone glide unsupported), and freestyle arms(on wall, with kick stick, full stroke.)
Level 2 Advanced (Freestyle) - Swimmer's will learn how to enter & exit the water safely. They will learn how to bob (rhythmic breathing skills), front float supported and progress to unsupported, back float supported and progress to unsupported, kick in progression (on wall, on kick board, in prone glide unsupported), and freestyle arms(on wall, with kick stick, full stroke.) Refining skills and working on endurance.
Level 3 (Backstroke) - Once swimmers have a solid freestyle base they are ready for backstroke. Participants will learn the basics of backstroke while advancing their Freestyle and water safety skills.
Level 4 (Breaststroke) - Once swimmers have a solid Backstroke base they are ready for Breaststroke. Participants will learn the basics of Breaststroke while advancing their Backstroke, Freestyle and water safety skills.
Level 5 (Butterfly) - Once swimmers have a solid Breaststroke base they are ready for Butterfly. Participants will learn the basics of Butterfly while advancing their Breaststroke, Backstroke, Freestyle and water safety skills.
Baby and Me - Parents and Guardians learn how to introduce their children to the water under the guidance of an instructor. All children must have on-on-one adult supervision at all times. Swim diapers must be worn by children not potty trained.
